Hydraulic Bit Disconnect Sub

The Progressive Hydraulic Bit Disconnect Sub is designed to remove the drill bit from the tubing string after milling or drilling operations have been completed. The production tubing is used in the drilling operation and is left in the hole for production eliminating a tubing trip.

Features

  • Hydraulic release that accommodates shear pressure changes in the field. Offers a wide range of shear value options.
  • A full opening ID corresponding to the appropriate tubing allows unrestricted flow and passage of wireline tools and other accessories after disconnect.
  • High strength and high torque.
  • Standard with field proven poppet style drill pipe float valve for positive seal. Flapper type is available.
  • Positive lock in to prevent premature disconnect.
  • Torque strength exceeds tubing capabilities.
  • Disconnected parts are captured in the bottom sub.
